Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep costumes from The Post on display...

Set in the early 1970s, The Post tells the story of The Washington Post's and America's first female publisher, Kay Graham (played by Meryl Streep), and the newspaper's editor, Ben Bradlee (Tom Hanks), as they battle the government to publish the Pentagon Papers detailing multiple U.S. Presidents cover-up during the Vietnam War, a journalistic endeavour and exercise in free speech which nearly destroyed the company and their careers.

These film costumes worn by the lead actors in Steven Spielberg's political drama were designed by Ann Roth and photographed on display at ArcLight Hollywood cinema on December 15, 2017.

Ann Roth was also Costume Designer on these other Meryl Streep movies - Julie & Julia, Doubt and Mamma Mia!, so be sure to take a closer look.

I for one can't wait to see this timely movie on the big screen, as we need all the reminders at the moment of how important it is to have freedom of the press to uncover the truths governments would rather we not know.
