Oscar-winning Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them film costumes on display...

Last night at the 89th Academy Awards, Colleen Atwood won her fourth Oscar for Best Costume Design for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Not only was this her amazing twelfth Oscar nomination, but it was the first time a movie from the Harry Potter cinematic universe took home a coveted golden statuette.

Here's another look at some of the costumes from the prequel to Harry Potter's wizarding world, which starred Eddie Redmayne as 'Newt Scamander', a quirky zookeeper of magical creatures in his suitcase, who becomes involved in an adventure in 1920s New York City when one of his incredible menagerie escapes.

I've previously seen these five costumes on display at ArcLight Hollywood cinema when the movie was theatrically released, but these particular Oscar-winning garments were exhibited at Downtown L.A.'s FIDM Museum's 25th Art of Motion Picture Costume Design exhibition on February 8, 2017, alongside the other Academy Award costume nominees.

Congratulations once again to Colleen Atwood, I'm sure it won't be her last Oscar nomination (or win).

Fans of the acclaimed Costume Designer can also check out all these other Colleen Atwood designed movie costumes from the likes of Alice in Wonderland, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Nine, The Huntsman: Winter's War, Snow White and the Huntsman, Public Enemies, Into the Woods and Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.

The Huntsman: Winter's War movie costumes on display...

In last year's prequel and sequel to 2012's Snow White and the Huntsman, the fairytales of the Brothers Grimm's Snow White and Hans Christian Andersen's The Snow Queen get mashed up to produce another dark medieval fantasy where Charlize Theron plays the evil sorceress 'Queen Ravenna' and Emily Blunt stars as her younger, ice-powered sister, 'Freya'. Chris Hemworth and Jessica Chastain play two trained Huntsmen whose love and lives are tested by these wicked siblings.

These fabulous costumes from the film were designed by Oscar-winning Costume Designer Colleen Atwood and were photographed on display at Downtown L.A.'s FIDM Museum where they were one of the highlights of the 25th Art of Motion Picture Costume Design exhibition on February 8, 2017.

Plus for more of her elaborate costumes designs for which she received one of her twelve Academy Award nominations, make sure you also check out Kristen Stewart's coronation gown from Snow White and The Huntsman from 2012.

Queen Ravenna's dramatic 'molten dress' is one of the stars of this movie costume exhibition and the golden leather, almost Venetian blind striped gown gives the sorceress the appearance that she's just stepped out of a liquid mirror. As graceful as it looks, this spectacular costume was apparently very heavy to wear.

Here's also Ravenna's regal robes, and for another fierce costume worn by South African actress Charlize Theron, you can also enjoy her Oscar-winning Imperator Furiosa costume from Mad Max: Fury Road on display.

In the film after her baby is murdered in its crib, 'Freya' flees her sister's kingdom and establishes her own as the 'Ice Queen', abducting children and training them to be an army of fearsome Huntsmen warriors to fight for her.

Admirers of the British actress can also enjoy her Baker's Wife film costume from Into the Woods and these period gowns from The Wolfman on display.

American actress Jessica Chastain plays one of the abducted children raised as part of the Huntsmen who falls for and secretly marries fellow warrior 'Eric'. Discovering their love, Freya uses her magic to tear them apart, until they discover the truth and are reunited in the future.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children film costumes on display...

In the 2016 movie adaptation of Ransom Riggs 2011 fantasy novel, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, following the death of his grandfather Asa Butterfield's 'Jake' travels to Wales in the U.K. to investigate his childhood tales of battling monsters and living at a fantastic home during World War II. Once there he discovers the children's home in a time loop which keeps it in 1943, hiding from invisible creatures called 'Hollows' wanting to feast on their eyes to make themselves immortal.

These costumes from the fantastical movie were designed by Colleen Atwood, who has been nominated for the Academy Award for Best Costume Design twelve times and won three times.

These peculiar costumes were photographed on display at the 25th Art of Motion Picture Costume Design at Downtown L.A.'s FIDM Museum on February 8, 2017, but this year she is not nominated for this Tim Burton film, but for her costumes from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

In the film directed Eva Green plays the titular headmistress, 'Miss Peregrine', and her peculiar gift is to be able to turn into a bird, a peregrine falcon. Her type of female peculiar are called 'Ymbrynes' and can also control time, helping her protect her young wards.

To evoke her birdlike qualities in human form, the costume designer gave her character pointed shoulders, an elongated, almost Edwardian jacket, with little touches of blue on the stitching.

Ella Purnell plays 'Emma', a teenage girl with the peculiar paranormal ability to manipulate air and who needs to wear weighted lead boots to help tether her to the ground, otherwise she would float away.

I've previously seen this costume on display alongside Lauren McCrostie's Olive costume from Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children when they were exhibited at ArcLight Sherman Oaks cinema last September. This display is better though, as these 1940s-inspired outfits are not hidden away behind reflective cases allowing you to have a better look at the designs.

Quite possibly the most peculiar looking and creepiest costumes in the movie are worn by the Twins, masked sackcloth-wearing children with gorgon-like power (hence the hooded masks).

For more spooky twin looks, make sure you check out these twin girl costumes from The Shining on display.
