In the 2023 Netflix biographical romantic drama, Maestro, Bradley Cooper directs himself as legendary American conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein and Carey Mulligan as his American actress wife, Felicia Montealegre. The film follows their relationship and family through the years, including his affairs with men, and his career from conducting the New York Philharmonic, to composing the popular Broadway musicals, Candide and West Side Story, to the death of Felicia from breast cancer in Leonard's arms in 1978.
